All who lives in Arizona
Near the town Tuscon
Watch out for my daughter Lynn Karijn
She's hitting the ball right on

Playing Softball is her life
And now she's out there for a week
They'll practice first and then a match
The Hillenbrand tournament is where to seek

I think she's playing Friday
With colleages of Dutch National Team
She is good, Dutch second best
Playing Softball is her dream

She only has one minor though
In many country she has seen
The hospitals from inside out
Severe injuries there has been

She never calls, but when she does
I know it's the end of play
Split open fingers, broken knee
But she can't play any other way

She will be twenty nine in May
But I've never seen her whole
The band-aid factory earns good money
As long as Softball is her goal

So when you see my daughter
Enjoying herself extremely I fear
Just tell her that I love her
And don't let the phone ring here

On Friday 28 February at 5.00pm they will be playing against the no.2 Arizona softball team.

Go get them Lynn!!!! (sorry folks, just couldn't resist )

Like scattered leaves...my words will flow

Titia~
You tell Lynn Karijn that I'll be rooting for them !
Maybe Vicky, PoetdeVine, SmartChick, Bill Charles or some of the other Arizona poets could take a run over for the competition.
Now wouldn't that be a nice surprise !

Hello Titia ~~ what a great poem and how fun that your daughter is playing here in the states. I will be cheering her on from Boston. Please let us know if her team wins.
