This is something I wrote a very long time ago about a marriage that has since ended.

"Mood Colors"

Red for the blood I cry
Blue for the untouchable sky
Purple for the bruises I carry
Black for the hurt I bury
Green for the grass that’s cut
Orange for the doors I shut
Yellow for the sun that goes down
Gray when your around

Red for the sign to stop
Blue at the very top
Purple at a rainbows core
Black for despair no more
Green for the trees that grow
Orange for not feeling low
Yellow for the man I marry
Gray for depression I parry.

Sy,

Thank you.  I wrote it about 10 yrs ago so I don't remember the meaning behind a couple of the lines.  But I remember the feeling of hopelessness behind the write in its entirety.

Cpat,

Took me an additional ten years to thrust.  I am a slow learner!

Susan,

This is an interesting write. Glad you are no longer in that situation. It captured much of an abusive relationship.

Pat,

Thank you for the response.  Please note the purple for the bruises are emotional rather than physical.

I really loved this!

I do not know whether I was then a man dreaming I was a butterfly, or whether I am now a butterfly dreaming I am a man.

Hello Susan

The images portrayed through your words were very vivid.

Take care.....Sue
