It is not your cold
Or the changing grey
of your storms
But the dry of me
That knows you to be
Too frigid to rain tears
Yet hopes for them
To fall as snow
That would cover
This barren
With a touch
Of beauty.

Ya know, I'm running out of ways to express my appreciation for your ability to reach me in places, just beneath the surface.  This is so low key, compared to some of yours...yet I think it's now one of my favorites.  Maybe because of the images and emotions it evoked, maybe 'cause it's just damn good poetry!

I like it! But help me...my mind asks "barren" what? I'm having trouble with figuring it out and am sure it's just me.

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.
