This is not directly a graphics question but it involves an animated graphic I created in Fireworks.

The animation involves a rectangle in the background, with text.  The text moves in various ways using frames and the rectangle serves as a "beige" background on a layer that is shared across the frames.

Anyway, my problem involves seeing the graphic in it's proper color in internet exporer 5 for Macintosh.  It appears as a White background (but the text is properly colored).  All other browsers I've tried render the color properly...Netcape 4, Netscape 6, quicktime movie viewer, etc... etc...  Any clues as to what the cause of this might be?  Are there settings in IE that may affect colors in this way (yet it views other web pages fine!).  Help!  I've already reinstalled IE on my computer and it's the same song second verse.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Stephen.

In IE, in properties...there is a setting to view "windows" colors. I don't know if that would fix the problem or not.

I would say maybe the layers aren't merged, but you're viewing it in everything else ok.

Try this. Go to Tools, then internet options, then clear history.

If you're having a color problem, that should usually fix it.

Hope that helps you out. Let me know.

I doubt it's a browser problem as much as it is an OS problem. The Mac simply handles colors differently, particularly the Gamma, so just about everything designed on a PC looks less saturated and more muted on an Apple. It's a common problem, with no easy solutions.

Ron,

I appreciate the reply, but I did create this animation on Mac, so a PC to Mac consideration was not the issue.  In regard to web-pages in general, I don't have alot problems with color issues... they seem to look just as good on my monitor as on PC monitors.  But anyway, It must have been the animation itself, because I recreated it and now it works fine.  Not the browser, but the anmation.  I guess wierd things can happen when you start working with multiple frames and layers.   Sorry I didn't post that the problem was solved sooner.

Thanks,

Stephen.
