it is like god made them
for us
our woods
on sunday afternoons
after the others have gone
when you say the old chevy
is your chariot
and I am your mark anthony
and you have your cleo gown on

made of cotton
so shear it lets me read you
when you think those things
and have reactions
or when you stand there
with pickup door open
waiting for me to look
where your thighs whisper
as you do your climb out dance

you say you like being
unladylike then
when my eyes are on you
and you like the bumps
in the road that make you
crash into me hard sometimes
so you have to grab my leg
up there high
to keep your balance

you painted your toes again
with harlot color paint
just to put them out the window
and watch me look there
and there too
when the wind moves your hem
I feel your eyes
looking up at me
from your lap pillow

and turn down that road
to the other side of the trees
where we meet god for hours
and walk in his heaven
where we are alone with love
and can speak our special language
where you leave your cleo gown
hanging on the side mirror
and we walk our love there

in dark shadows of our woods

I'm just off to bed, and may I tell you that I'm glad this is my last read for the night - I simply love this..it has the flow I search for in poetry...

'and turn down that road
to the other side of the trees
where we meet god for hours
and walk in his heaven
where we are alone with love
and can speak our special language
where you leave your cleo gown
hanging on the side mirror
and we walk our love there'

stunning really.

Severn, humble thanks, it is a wonderful place..thanks for coming along

Cpat, the dust of the road is even friendly as it dances and lands without touching the scent of the wildflowers

thanks for the read

I believe he did. You are so there. In memory places taking pictures and creating new thoughts with them. A spiritual/sensual barefooted place...I adore this!!

Sincerely,
Regina
