Deep in the heart

Ivy Rose,
I don't know why your work took me to this place. It did, and I thank you for the inspiration.
~*~
His strong, bloodied fingers
~~~ fingers of hope.
His fingers removing debris
from 9-11 aftermath.His
body aching from the
bending and lifting,
this volunteer from
Massachusetts ... helping.
After a time he comes home
to you and redeploys
his fingers to the more
pleasant duty of pleasure.
Writing poetry of love
and devotion, exquisite
in its simplicity and truth.
Hesitantly handing it to you,
taking you in his arms,
crying, as he remembers,
and in his thankfulness
for you.Taking your hand,
entwining those raw fingers
in yours, drawing you to a
walk along the river, holding
on as though he might lose you.
And, holding you tightly
as he speaks, reverence in his voice,
of his love for you.Speaking
~~~~ love into living.

In response to:Your Amazing Fingers ...

Fool, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write.

This is incredible!  Much much more than a prescription...it would seem Ivy Rose brought something to the surface here, and it is most beautiful.  Wonderful write!

I sense these words were pulled from the deepest depths of your tender heart and soul. This is one of your very best poems. Thank you. And thank you, for constantly highlighting and shining light upon the gems of other poets.
