~ Cliché? ~

Come tell me a cliché what would that be?
Would the words still shine with utter beauty?
Is it a cliché if the words ring quite true?
What if I said that I really loved you?
Just because something has been said before
Doesn’t make it old and not welcome anymore
The fact is I’m spun into gold by your kiss
These words are real I truly mean this

Cliché, hackneyed phrases I don’t think so
More like words which have a poetic flow
Slipping over my tongue with such smooth grace
When I speak of how much I love to trace
Your form, with soft and butterfly kiss
How I long to hold you close like this
Are these words cliché, and not worth much?
Because they speak of your beloved touch

Over used expression is that quite true?
How can I say too often that I love you?
I could say those words forever and a day
And they could never be considered at all cliché
These words need to be said loud and clear
I have to tell you that I want you near
I don’t use clichés these few words I say
They are not and never will be cliché

YAY!!! Oh my gosh, I couldn't agree with you more, sweet friend, I believe that when we first say those three simple words to our true love, the magic of romantic love begins, and every time after that it is said, it is not cliche but deja vu, a deja vu of eternal happiness in which all terms of endearment can be usedforever and eve again! (kiss on cheek) We all love you so much, sweet friend, your words are always fantastic to read! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Marsha, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Marsha,
no fair. I didn't get to post my cliched poem because of the limit and here you go beating me hands down.

There is nothing cliched when it comes to love Marsha, and by the way, I love this post. Excellent as always!

Marsha dear girl. You have expressed this so well, How possibly "I love you" become a cliche, it will live till the end of time. Lovely work dear lady, floria

Marsha, darling girl

Cliches are among my favorite treasures. May I tell you why?

As I lay my head upon your sweet hey
In your sweet soft lap of old word array
I must admit the truth I need to say
I even pray to God in my clichés.

For old phrases in blazes are much fun
When the meaning adds to more than the sum
And why be forlorn because they are worn
Old thoughts loved and known before we were born?

And so all my days I will walk in haze
As I blaze and I praise my sweet cliches.

As I have said many times, Mushy, your poetry and your wisdom get better and better and better! And I love every word! And I love you! xo

~ Beautifully put
You certainly did your homework.
It's where the rubber meets the road.

Somehow, "I love you" doesn't fit, does it?

Fool, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write.
