(This is a song I wrote in just a half-an-hour for my love Joanna, a love song with a tinge of sadness) You're The One I Need By: Noah Eaton 3/1/02 I place your photos in my picture-frame You are like a goddess to me Wishing I could take you out every Friday night Sleep together every Saturday late into the morning You could sit beside me every Sunday in church Nurture every dream with a prayer So every day when I feel frustrated or overwhelmed I'll always cheer up when I see your smile You're the one I need I'm trying to hold on As long as I can hold you I'll always be writing a happy song You're the one I need My real life is just beginning Life can be so scary But you give me that special feeling That among this whole wide world You're the one I'll forever see... For you I've learned to sing I've been learning how to waltz and swing If you ever feel sad and cry I will hold you close and cry with you We can forever kiss at each sunrise like cowboys and cowgirls do We can forever do laundry together I'm hoping through all these tears and wallowing in self-pity That we will be together forever You're the one I need I'm trying to hold on As long as I can hold you I'll always be writing a happy song You're the one I need My real life is just beginning Life can be so scary But you give me that special feeling That among this whole wide world You're the one I'll forever see... Noah, you have such a beautiful heart. Can I share what this reminded me of? About 5 years after my Grandfather died, there was a gentlemen courting my grandmother. She was not considering remarriage, but he really loved her. This is what he told me. "I have a picture of Eva next to my bed. Every night I say "goodnight Eva". Every morning I say "goodmorning Eva." I thought that was the sweetest thing I had heard, until this poem. Love you, sweet friend. Thank you for all your kind thoughts. Sandra |
