Silver Lining

The best of the best brings the worst of the bad
good days always spoiled by sad
for every joy, we pay a steep price
tragedy lives in the roll of the dice

at the end of the rainbow, the pot of gold
is filled with misfortune, as yet...untold
every thrill comes wrapped in fear
and tied with threadbare ribbons of tears

the brighter the sun, the harder it rains
pleasure is always repaid with pain
beaming skies bring bigger storms
the better it looks, the more we will mourn

when thunderclouds fill skies with doubt
the silver linings' inside out

Thank you, this is wonderful!!! I believe everything happens for a reason. So if I'm 'down' one day, I just have to think about it and realize that life gets better.

Spoken like a true pessimist ) I kwow we all do have days that things feel inside out. I have lots of them. But as usual, something wonderful here makes me feel better.

Madame; You have a wonderful talent.  In reading this, I thought of some of the so-called bad things that have come in my life.  You know, I wonder if we would appreciate some of the good things as much if we didn't experience the bad once in a while.  The bad helps us to appreciate the good.  Enjoyable read.  Wanda

Thank you everyone...I am so glad that you enjoyed it...it is rather pessimistic, but I have learned that every time I something really wonderful happens to me...I can expect something terrible to follow.  It has become a pattern that I can, unfortunately depend on.
I'm sorry I don't have time to answer individually but it it midnight and I have to go to sleep.

What a fabulous lesson in contrast!
I love it!

Fool, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write.
