I really have considered-
Laying down my pen.
And tearing up my manuscripts-
To never write again.

The ink I use is sorrow...
My vellum is my pain...
I really think it better far,
To never write again.

Each word is like a drop of blood-
Each heartbeat hastes the end...
No doubt, there is a better way-
One’s fleeting life to spend...

The tears of memory burn my eyes-
The thoughts, “What might have been”-
You’ll understand? It’s best that I-
Should never write again.

The emotions of this are so true sometimes, aren't they?  I compliment you.  You expressed it very well indeed.

All your emotions come out in your words.
They serve as a constant reminder of how you once felt about things that have happened to you.
I've considered stopping myself.
Good poem!

John, what a shame that would be. Your pain makes your writing, yours. It's lovely, well written and a pleasure to read. The sadness is shared by the ones who read it. Cheryl

(big hugggsssssss) Oh John, I hope these feelings don't really apply to you, but if they are, we all know deep down your wonderful powerful Traveller's Tales always touch all our hearts and are expressed so wonderfully from your golden heart, and it is such wonderful writing that delights us each day. Your words are very meaningful to us all, sweet friend, and we're all so happy you share them with us all! (big hugggssssss) We all love you so much, sweet friend, write on!!! (smiles) You have such a beautiful heart, sweet John, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

John, please don't stop writing!! Just to get all of those feelings out and onto paper, is a healing of sorts. Plus, we love reading your poetry. Chris

John,

You say you'll never write again?

Never write again?
Because of pain?
How can you gain?
When poison's in a soul.

Must it not be cleansed
By your true pen
And so my friend
To make your heart grow whole,

Write! write! And write!
'Til your soul's pure white
Leave cold dark night
Come! Bring your pen! Let's fight!

Write!

Ah, fellow minstrels, tried and true...
Life would be sad if not for you!
While I might try to ditch my pen...
I canna help, but write again.

Thank you all very much for your encouragement.

Well now.  Since you've spoken my heart so well, it is now encumbent upon you to continue writing, because if you quit, then I will have to quit, and you'll just start a dominoe effect that I don't think even you wish to have happen...

so pick up the pen, John, pick up the pen...

John:

Writing helps express your feelings and desires, and it also brings friends together.  Please don't stop writing!  Looking forward to the next one.
