She stands an icon.
An idol maker for a bargains' sake.
Short changing you with an excuse.
She ties the knot in the passion noose.

It is the circus of a well hung man,
dangling in female applause.
On the floor beneath the tables of jury duty women,
waiting for the crumbs to fall.
We menu men in a hollandaise sauce,
are taken home in a doggy bag.

For she is mindfull of manners when it's too rude to speak,
and she is the only one that can hold a man,
With her safe, secure monopoly.
A dress through which everyone can see.

There are far too many beggars that line this neon street,
and there are bound to be some robbers about.
So auditions are held for her secret police.
I guess I never had enough to satisfy the dream.
So what's the measure of a man for love?
Does he practise on one knee?
Well love for me is not a charity.
This see through dress of
monogamy.
this should get you all goin!

Mauddib, what shall I say! This is well written, bitter and stinging. Some woman must have really been cruel. This is sort of like when I watched "Roots" for the first time. I was ashamed I was white. Now I think I ashamed to be a woman. Let's hope some woman doesn't decide to take the other point of view. Could be quite a battle.

Gee Greg, sounds like you have been really hurt in the past.  This is a very tense and well thought out write.  Well done!
