A poet deals not in competition
Nor to gain great self-gratification

It is more as a means of exposing
Of sending forth a personal meaning

We must avoid eliciting falsehoods
To sway the multitude with our goods

Our words are not at all man made wonders
And sometimes arranged to avoid blunders

A rewarding writing will somehow show
That the reader sees where our thought did go

Each person deciphers as words are read
We do hope you'll realize what each word said

I certainly hope that I made this clear
I even grouped couplets, like these two here

For you've done what need say be
for the art of poetry

as in all rhyme we find the note
by reading what the author wrote

self-gratification? in just your smile;
it's what I wanted, all the while...

I love your poetry
'Twas written just for me.

You say it well my friend
So Thank you! Thus, The End.

Talk of poetry, talk of blunders
A fine poet I know is the poeticplumber

Beautiful visions flow through his pen
I'm not only a fan, I'm also a friend : )

I agree with everything here also.  Maybe you could get it posted as a poet's creed.  Good work.

I am so pleased that you liked this for just trying to say what we are.  It has always been easy for me to write words in rhyme.  The important part though, is to try and make each group chime.  The greatest reward is when people understand your offering.  Thank you all from the absolute bottom of my heart - The Poetic Plumber - or Rog
PS:  I love the plumbing jabs
