The Voyeur

He paced a bit
Walked to and fro
Seemingly uneasy
Who would know?

She had caught
His eye that day
Sitting at a table
In a conference room bay

She had age
But wore it well
A bit of slender
In her dwell

Not one word
Was shared between
Him and her, his
Conference Room Queen

From his vantage
He could view well
The length of leg
And something swelled

Was it hope?
Or profound delight?
A wish for more
Than just eyesight?

He was married!
And happy, too!
Then why did this woman
Spark something new?

Now each day
At quarter past one
He waited, impatient
To see if she’d come

Then there’d she be,
His Conference Room Queen
His to view alone
A solitary dream

Would he advance?
Ask her name?
Change his life?
Or stay the same?

He thought of his
Sweet wife at home
He’d promised her,
He’d never roam

But here his thoughts
Were shred anew.
God, what he’d give
To own this view!

But common sense
Overhauled his mind
And he thanked God
He wasn’t blind.

*sigh* I'm not sure how to respond to this poem. It is so real and true to life...yet I feel sadness for his wife if he does follow this dream queen. You weave well a story that happens often. **hugs**

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

very honest poem, the grass always seems greener until you realize it all has to be mowed....

My perception of truth will somehow never quite be the same..and so I write.

I've always heard we guys can look but not touch, presuming the existence of significant others or happy in a relationship.
