No longer sure exactly the day when
she went down for the count,
I still remember the look
after
the closing of the door.
I knew then, the news
would not be good.

Fellow sufferers gather round,
with furrowed brow we analyze
the events preceding...I told
how she had been flighty-
coming and going these last few years,
how sometimes
she was silent, and other times
she refused to be.

I admitted that she trusted
too much.

I told how the last time's piece picking
might have been more
than she could take, how
after pouring out her final say, I felt her
give way.

Heads nodded in silent understanding.

Nothing now to do, I sit bedside
and wait,
hold her hand
and tell her that I miss her.

Can you hear me?...they tell me you can...
Softly I speak, not to the level
of intrusion, just to let her know
that I am here
waiting...

well I intentionally left it ambiguous, but I don't want anyone feeling sorry for me, so will add in that it is just about my silent muse.....I hate it when I have nothing to write...
thank you so much for your concerns

whatever you are going through, I know how you feel, I don't like pity either...just know that it's wonderful to have a place where you can write it out, do whatever you need to do to be good to yourself and the muse will return if gone. Most times, the muse is really another name for our soul..I think..I'm babbling here.....Happy Thanksgiving.

Just...Kathleen

I hate that too. . . but, like all Muses, they come out of that coma soon enough. . .
