Wish I Had a Crystal Ball

I wish that I had
a crystal ball
I could look into
and tell me all
lived my past
that I don’t need to know
future bliss is what
I’d like it to show

wonder what is
the future of me
would I like
what I could see
will it foretell
of things I miss
or the forthcoming
of more of this

or shall it switch directionally
to adventure so complex
I have no patience
of what is next
my past shall lend me
things I can borrow
developing with me
my future of tomorrow

and with no crystal fortune
I’ll have to wait
formation of an event
is within create
just as the ticking of
the tock reaches chime
I approach my future
if I give it time

Helen, we write each moment as they pass don't we?  And we live every syllable. This is very nice.

Helen,
I really enjoyed this poem, especially the words:

my past shall lend me
things I can borrow
developing with me
my future of tomorrow

Awesome write.  Thanks.

I have, you know, a crystal ball...
I looked within and saw it all.
I saw a sky grow dark with cloud...
the wisps of ends in weave of shroud.

I saw a storm come rolling in...
tumbling dice of snake eye'd sin.
and I forsook the serpernt's tooth
this vision, then, I did rebuke.

I saw a tiny gleam in night
a crystal in refracted light...
a tiny dot that yearned to grow
it burst the clouds--became the snow.

And all the darkness was released--
sun in rise--a storm's relief.
And everything I once believed?
Became the things I used to know.

For you, Miss Helen...with smiles...hope ya like!

Helen - Terrific poem, with so much longing in it.  So sad in a way.

Serenity - That is very sweet response to a fine lady.  Good for you!  One of the things I will never cease to marvel is the supportive loving so many of you give so freely.  Your poem and accompanying message is one of the finer examples.

A nice poem, but I'm still wondering what tomorrow will be

'just as the ticking of
the tock reaches chime
I approach my future
if I give it time'

A lesson I have to learn

Cheers!
Jon

This was a wonderful weave of wisdom in your words and a great poem for pondering.  However, I live second to second, and never worry about the future at all, because that way I can't fully enjoy the present!
