What A Journey!
Have you ever travelled
Without knowing the way?
Have you ever followed directions
Obtained from some stranger
You’ve stopped at the curb?
Have you read a map whilst
Still driving the car;
In the pouring rain;
On an unlit meandering road;
With misted window screen?

Though we quite often shun it,
There is advice to be gained
From various sources,
To put us on track, to find
That desired destination.
It is said that implementation
Of knowledge gained
Is the key to success;
This the vehicle for navigating
Safely, happily, and comfortably
To a journeys end.

Never having travelled
The most direct route;
Never knowing how a crow flies;
Never having met an expert navigator,
That is man, woman, or crow;
I wouldn’t know if this was true!
Yet, here I am offering advice
As though a cabby with the ‘Knowledge’
But isn’t that what we all do?
Isn’t this the way of the world?
‘Do as I say, not as I do’.

Jon,
Thank you for the read. It was very good.

Without the experiance of love where would we be? We would have no memories to cherish.
With love it brings hurt with hurt bittersweet memories.

Me, either.  Great lines here in a poem that gave me a smile.  My Grandmother used to say that.  Then, she'd just laugh and laugh at her own ornery nature.
