Home?
by WhiteKnight

Security
Warmth, loving, caring
Sharing too.

Safety
Loved ones
No needing to try
No needing to fly
Grounded, secure
Always sure.

Home should be these things
Yet rarely is.
Do you desire to stay and give?
Do you desire to live?

Our minds often say
"Do what's right
stay and fight."
For the right to be a family.

Often our hearts disagree,
they say "Run!" and "Flee!"
Our heart does not know
The fear in our heads.

We fear change
and the unknown.
We fear being alone.
so we stay
we live in our little hell
we convince ourselves all is well.
While we seek out help
Doctors and medication
hoping to numb our reality.
Hoping to quell our fears.

Do you hear me?
Do you know?
What I show?
It's time to go.

Grounded and secure - oh, if only it could be this way. Excellent. Chris

Where will you go?
That's what I want to know.
The whole earth
is our home.

A good thought-provoking poem.

I'm sure this is real for too many of us.  Haunting questions that are well said.  Painful but true.  If only we listened and learned.  Nicely done.

Yes, I hear you. This sounds so very, very familiar. I pondered many of these thoughts myself before I took the choice to leave.

If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please?
