Amelia’s View

In your wildest of sky-high dreams,
Amelia, you could not have foreseen
that flight would ever come to this;
smiling for the cameras -
traveling into new frontiers,
boundless in the stratosphere.

Surely the irony is not wasted on you,
you must be weeping, from your aerial view,
beloved Electra conquered your fears;
carriers changed greatly through the years,
now, without valor, instruments of doom,
reminiscent of wars fought in the gloom.

Amelia, I wonder, where are you now?
Are you lost beyond the island clouds?
Still guided, I hope, by stars and seas,
whispering on winds of prayers, and peace.

Corinne~
Oh, sweet poetess ...
leave it to you to think of something as touching as this~
Such original thoughts~

'Surely the irony is not wasted on you,
you must be weeping, from your aerial view'

'Still guided, I hope, by stars and seas,
whispering on winds of prayers, and peace.'

Thank you for a perspective that had not crossed my mind~
*Hugs*
