In a corporeal internship...

0 posted 2001-07-29 07:01 PM

I have faith
In myself,
I believe
In my dreams

Though I've found
That everything
Isn't always
As it seems

I still hope you'll see
Reality
Is in our hands...
If you just give it the chance...

Time has gone
And time will go
As for years
It has, I know

I just want to
Be your friend
Before this chance
Could meet its end

It isn't too late
To make it great
And start anew...
It's up to me and you...

I was triggered by a picture --
An image of your face...
My feelings became a mixture --
The tempo quickened pace...
Still my dreams remain a fixture --
And you are at their base...
Won't you just give it a chance?

Opportunities gone by...
It's enough to make one cry
Yet it's what could lie in store
That makes me struggle even more

One day I'll break through
And when I do
I'd like to say:
"It was all because of you."

More important than success
Is the joy
And happiness
That your
Friendship could bring...
For that I'd do
Anything

I don't want to
Jump to conclusions
Or paint illusions --
I just ask for a chance...

I was triggered by a picture --
An image of your face...
My feelings became a mixture --
The tempo quickened pace...
Still my dreams remain a fixture --
And you are at their base...
Won't you just give it a chance?

I have waited
For so long,
But I'll humbly
Wait some more

If it means
You'll change your mind
And take me up
On my offer...

Please don't turn away --
There's so much more
That I'd like to say...
Won't you just give me
The chance?

Thanks, SEA.  Chances come and go but learning lessons remain.

Only a fool would have let that chance slip away!  Wonderful write Mark!

I think this must have been one of her big mistakes.
Nice work, full of emotion, Mark

Everyone already said most of what there is to say. Wonderful poem. I've been looking for something just like it to show my friend how fun it is to be in here. THANX!!!

I hope you got your chance, but I'm thinking you did not.  I hope I'm wrong.  Good write.

This is heartbreaking.  I've been there, and I know how it hurts.

you pack a lot of sincerity in this one, Mark. That's all we can do sometimes...display what we have to offer and hope for the best. You have done that ably...

I have been in this situation more than once, asking for chances.  Unfortunately, most of those chances...didn't happen for me.  Hope you get yours!

I hope so Mark. Maybe things will turn in favor of you both. Very poetic write on taking chances and asking for them as well.
Sincerely,
Rwood

Sandra, I guess we'll "never know"...  just another path chosen from the spider-web fractures on the glass pane of life...

Snooganzmeister32:  a sincere thank you, and I am truly flattered.  Hope the inspiration serves your friend well...

Lone Wolf:  that's a tricky one to answer, for of course I had my "chances", but decisions made led to different outcomes, for both of us.  However, the chances that resulted consequently, not related to her, were the inevitable result of cause and effect based on those decisions...  No complaints -- just observations, ponderings, and expressions...

1slippery_lady:  thank you for reading and responding.  All we can do is try our "best" and adjust our course based on the weather's outcome...

Balladeer -- thank you, Sir.  I agree -- with honest intentions and motives, we try, and if we don't succeed, we keep trying until we learn to move on...

ShannonM, I've had my chances...  some of them were blown and others were siezed.  The art becomes to recognize which ones are worth taking and figuring out the best way in which to take them...  Thanks for the reply.

Regina, thank you for your wishes...  "In favor of us both" is a relative thing now being that this is thirteen years later, but I do hope her life is everything she hoped it would be, and I'm doing my best to make mine the same.  No regrets -- just Wisdom.  Thanks for the comments.
