What ever happened to childhood?
No worries or cares, life was good
I really miss when I was young
GI Joes, TV shows, life was always fun
Wakeup, play, eat, play, nap, play
Same routine every single day
Now it’s work at my job, work at home, next day do it again
What a waste of life, it feels just like a sin
Can’t stop and smell the roses
Or lay and stare up at the sky
Always feel I’ve accomplished nothing
Can only lay and wonder why
I can’t stop to take in the sights
I just drive right past ‘em
Question my mortality
I hope I will outlast ‘em
When  I was a kid, I never questioned death
Never worried when I’d take my final breath
Felt I was invincible, felt like I was king
Thought that I could fly, if I was given wings
Now I want to fly, fly far away from here
To another time and place, where I will have no fear
No fear of what’s to come, no fear of tomorrow
Never feeling pain, anger, stress, or sorrow
Life when I was happy, life when  I was free
Life when I wasn’t afraid to be the real me
I want to act crazy,
I want to act wild
I want the life that I had back
When I was just a child

I'll say...I'm with you on this one.
Life when all the bad things were sheltered from you and it was like living in a land of pink clouds, icecream, and unicorns. Everything was just so filled with bliss and perfection. I beginning to really miss it. Too much relaity in the last 2 years for my wee little head to handle. Thanks for the read. Awesome write as usual. Very meaningful.

You wouldn't worry about what people thought about you if you knew how seldom they did.

No doubt!  I started working last month...same thing everyday! It seemed life had meaning when you had no cares....

Just as Jess said.  The best thing about childhood is that we're so sheltered.  We know nothing but how to be the innocent good little kids we were.  Or, I was.  I wish that feeling stayed forever.. Real life is certainly a kick in the arse, eh?  This was a well written poem.  The rhyme scheme was a little sporadic.. you had a certain scheme going in the first half, and then all of a sudden it switched.  My suggestion, is put a line break and make each rhyme scheme different stanzas.     I really enjoyed this one.  Lots of truth spoken..
Nice work!
