Comedy of the Stars

Night has come,
And nothing makes a sound...
Yet if you listen closely
You can here the laughter
Of the stars.
They laugh at the moon,
For in the sky, it seems to be
An oversized star
Glaring.
They chuckle
For they will never change
In being
As the moon does each month.
They've seen much more
Much more than the moon ever will
And giggle when the moon protests
That it has indeed seen more nights
Than the stars.
They jest
For when the time comes
For a new moon
The stars laugh and say
"You are still the same silly thing you were
Last month."
The moon does nothing
But sits and waits
For a star
To explode.
Who has the last laugh now?

Ok, I know...certainly not my best...I can take that. I just needed something different.

This was very nice.  I liked the ending.  It was sort of ironic.  Great job.

HeHe- I liked this one Leah.
The bully stars in the end got what they deserved. LOL.
BUT!   I hate the moon. Curse the moon! She should have been the one to explode! HeHeHeHe
Nice write.

You wouldn't worry about what people thought about you if you knew how seldom they did.

I really liked this... something different... definitely a different look on things.  It wasn't your best, but still very good nonetheless.  I liked the whole vocabulary and tone of the poem... I thought it was creative, given the content.  Nicely done, Leah!  I really enjoyed this!
