there is no louder sound
than the silence
of a poet's pen
left lying
on a desk

there is no brighter light
than the memory
of a poet
smiling down
from the heavens

in memory of Wilfred Yeats

a gentle man
a gentleman
a poet

rest in peace

Thank you Bill for all that you shared, all that you taught, and all that you touched with your gentle spirit and generous, kind heart.
We love you, we are all better for your touch.

For Bill, with respect, admiration & gratitude for all the "Traces Left Behind"

My Warrior
"Waleha"
(Cherokee songs)
Ive been searching for my warrior
Ive been walking down tracks of time
Its such a struggle to seek forgiveness
Like chains and shackles these ghosts of mine

I am crossing over heaven's seas
Where my warrior is waiting for me
crossing over heaven's seas
Where my warrior is waiting for me

Feels like Im dancing with truth and wisdom
Precious rhythm you are my guide
These days are sacred
my heart is humble
Oh my warrior ... show me the shining light

I am crossing over heaven's seas
Where my warrior is waiting for me
crossing over heaven's seas
Where my warrior is waiting for me

Oh can you hear me ... I can hear you
Far beyond the tracks of time
Oh can you feel me ... I can feel you
Feel the power inside this heart of mine

Crossing over heavens seas...
feel the power inside of me
feel the power in this life
feel the power in the light.

"Waleha" Cherokee songs
sung by Rita Coolidge & Laura Satterfield

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There are places inside our souls -
that have never been touched.
There are places inside our hearts -
that need to be loved this much.
A fine tribute to a poet I'm sadly only now beginning to know...and so he will live on here in this haven for all of us.  Truly a beautiful write, Sharon.
Very well said, PDV. I have to tell you that I've been purposely avoiding the boards for the past few days, just can't handle seeing his old poems floating around, as if it's all a big mistake...Surely it's all a mistake?
