awkwardness in the face of grace her eyes caught mine and i stumbled (i've forgotten my own name!) i've never thought of eyes like headlights (i'm not a deer! i'm not a deer!) the counter wasn't this tall yesterday (don't drop it, you fool! say something!) "um, hi. here's your computer." (how do you turn this thing on?) she's like staring into the sun without hurting (qwerty! qwerty! who moved "enter"?) "see, it works now, all fixed." (i'll never find gloves with this many thumbs.) if she smiles, i think i'll pass out (fifty feet, then door, count steps. left. right.) "bye!" hey, thumbs are good for waving (i've never seen the sun set by turning a corner.) |
