A joyless day awaits me
On this depressing day in May
The sun it may be shining
But I don't see a single ray

It was two years ago today
That you so gracefully gave up the fight
How much torment I've gone through
As I wished I was there that night

But I wasn't there to comfort you
That night a phone call I did take
That would change my life forever
And would cause my heart to break

You died that Sunday night
But I was unable to be there
I just hope and pray you realised
How much for you I cared

So similar we were
Somewhat loners me and you
How easily we'd talk with one another
And share our points of view

Sometimes we'd sit in silence
No words we needed to say
So comfortable we were with each other
As we'd pass the time of day

Along the beach now I drive in silence
This road that takes me to where you lay
Some flowers I'll take to your graveside
On this sad and dismal day

How my tears fall oh so freely
On these pages as I write
As I try so hard to finish this poem
Having to summon up all of my might

Even though I know you're gone
A part of me just won't let go
My love for you will never die
How much I wanted you to know

A very sad heartfelt poem, Nothing can ease the pain which is caused when we lossed a loved one, But I am sure they are still there and can hear what you say, therefore you haven't realy lost them at all, only lost the ability to percieve them . Lots of Hugs, Thanks for sharing .

A person's imortality comes from living in the heart of one who remembers.
Remember.

Live for love. Without love, you don't live.

Dear Sue:
I can feel your sadness and makes me sad for you.  The memories you have will keep this loved one alive in your heart and mind. Going forward does get easier as time goes by.

This was rather difficult for me to write but they were words I had to say. Thank you all for your kind, thoughtful words.....Sue

Sue,

This is both lovely and tender, my friend.  Your father would be proud of you, I'm sure.

God bless you as you remember your friend, this is a sad and poignant piece.

Very nicely woven, heartfelt.  Yes, continue to love, continue to enjoy the memories of those times that you shared.  As this person remains in your heart, know that you were in their heart that final day and your love surely went with them as they were carried away.  For love has no boundaries nor no limit when it is real and surely this person's love is ever with you still.
