His birthday is on Saturday
I can't seem to forget
I want to forget
Wish desperately
That I could
I wish that I could forget
What his fist against my face
Felt like
Or his military boot
Kicking the back of my head
I wish I could forget
His anger
His rage
His hatred
That always seemed to find me
I wish this month was over
So I could go on pretending
That it never happened
That I am still whole
And unchanged

so give your self the present baby ...
this poem is a good start ...
now take a copy of it... or some personal reminder ...set it on fire or throw it in the ocean you love so much.
set your self free...

and although you may have been changed ...
you became whole again when you got out of the situation and didnt make the same mistake twice.

Sunshine, thank you...I keep getting these jolts of terror.....and trying to act normal( and I use normal loosely) saying he still scares me is hard.....

Interloper~ sweetie, if you knew what I went through for two years of my life, you wouldn't think I should forgive.....I never will be able to forgive.....I leave that to God....

Sea...some things are unforgiveable...as well as unforgettable...I know baby Ive been there too...I still remember the fear of never knowing when the next attack would come...what might set him off...never knowing if it was gonna be a kiss or a fist that met me at the door...healing doesnt always start with forgiveness...I love you baby girl and Im here for you

You guys....your love and support is making me cry this morning......thank you for it.....I haven't said anything to anyone around here.....I think they think I should be "over it" by now....and mostly I am.....just some reminders won't fade. I'll be fine in a few days.....I love you guys....thank you so much. You'll never know how much it means to me.
