This Lovely Vision

by Michael

One day, while sketching at the sea
Breathtaking beauty, golden tan
Approached and asked what it might be
And stood with me upon the sand

So seldom can such beauty be
My heart was beating like a drum
As if she came from out the sea
From nowhere did she seem to come

Her name was Libby and we talked
We seemed to find a common bond
Quite near the foam and spray we walked
Her voice like ripples on a pond

Just barely was she clothed at all
Her body like you see in dreams
Her eyes are what I really saw
She's still a part of me it seems

Her eyes, sweet dew reflecting light
Such peace conveyed within their gaze
More lovely than the stars of night
So lost in them, much like a maze

More like a vision, so like art
Her voice was softly dripping rain
If my eyes closed, would she be there?
Is this a dream, am I still sane?

Our shadows lengthened as we walked
And as we talked of many things
The sun now changed its shift with night
We spoke of long forgotten dreams

As darkness fell I took her hand
So not to lose her in the night
Her touch like silk against my skin
Her fragrance was so much like sight

A little longer did we stroll
With hand in hand along the shore
Now she's embedded in my soul
Oh how we longed for so much more

But part we did, and now I miss
This lovely vision, gone so long
I never touched her lips to kiss
Though in my heart she lives in song

Anyone who could cause someone to write such beauty must of been an angel. If it be true you must go sketch by the sea in hopes of seeing her again.
This was really
awesome.

How lovely! Truly wonderful writing.

Micahel--I think your poem may be more lovely than Libby...for in it she remains forever just as she was...beautiful.  You have captured romance in this poem for the ladies...thank you.

Michael, this is absolutely gorgeous, although laced with yearning and pain!  I see that you're a deep romantic like I am. Into my libary this goes~

Take care,
Melissa~

Oh Michael, this is simply superb. What wonderful cadence and rhyme! This flowed so beautifully, and the imagery was excellent! I really enjoyed this!

Best wishes,
/Kit
