Life for me has become confusing
Things are moving way too fast
I feel I'm caught up in a whirlwind
And I'm not sure how long I'll last

The pressures I feel are great
Weighing like a ball and chain
Please let me off this roundabout
Before I go completely insane

I live inside a hole
There is no color in my life
Please don't leave that near me
That very sharp kitchen knife

My mind is not my own
It has deserted me this day
The sun it may be shining
'tho I don't see a single ray

My life is covered in darkness
And I can't seem to get a grip
Every time I try to leave this hole
All I seem to do is slip

Please help me find the sun
And promise me you'll stay
I really need your help right now
Someone to guide me the right way

* * * *

This is dedicated to all those
who struggle in our society and
often feel on the outer.So
many times their cries for help
go unheard with some resorting
to suicide.

Sue:  You have presented well, what it must be like to be in such a depression that you think about taking your life. For so many of these people, there doesn't seem to be an answer.  Sad topic, but you;ve captured the atmosphere of it.

Sue, so true in these situations and you have done a great job of telling the sad tale.

The pursuit of truth and beauty is a sphere of activity in which we are permitted to remain children all our lives.

Well written.  I wish I could say I was a stranger to those feelings, but I don't like to lie.  You've captured the essence of depression and hoplessness very well.  congrats!

Due to circumstances beyond your control, you are master of your fate and captain of your soul.

Thank you for you comments and part of what I wrote was from first hand experience.  I have suffered depression in the past and know what a terrible disease it really is.  Fortunately for me I was able to get help before I spiralled further but there are those who are never heard and battle on their own.  Society needs to be more understanding of depression and youth suicide as it is now such a big part of every day life.

Take care......Sue
