Lavender dawns

You slept,
beside me as
I watched, adoring you
Listening to your sweet
slumbered breath
In slowest motion;
swaying soft
fields of wheat,
into summer mornings

You the exotic,
sleeping amber, mysterious
Exciting to touch
Pure, feminine, and warm.
Resplendent in trusting abandon
River of my hands
poured. Splashing, swirling,
filling into dark pools
with the taste of you

You were dreaming,
distant dreams,
laced narcotic in scent.
Luscious, lavendered, loved - like
fine wine, tasted through our kiss
Full-ripened. Plum-soft.
Then sweet-surrendered.
To our joy, our freedom,
and togetherness.

This is a very rich poem deep in longing.
It's full of passion and intensity. Good to see you here. I just noticed you are in Ireland------land of my grandparents!!!!!!

"When red-haired girls scamper like roses over the rain-green grass,
and the sun drips honey."
