Sanctuary

Unshakled by sleep
I slipped like the thief
into the nether worlds
that are for you
and I, only ours
Released so eagerly so
my swimming mind,
flew the miles
just to see you, sitting,
your back to the world

You typed determinedly,
working stealthily
in silence, undisturbed,
absorbed, engaged.
I rushed, longingly
almost to tantilising touch,
then sat, behind you, straddling you,
and watched

Those playful,
beautiful,
healing hands, with
delicate fingers,
banded in gold
spangled in emerald;
those loved and kissed hands
that deftly clicked
the lines of letters
into quietly forming words

Drank your fragrance
of rich golden hair
Whorled in wonderous
whispered wishes
around those delicate ears
that through the millennia
I have so loved.
Circled slowly, a scarf of arms
held tightly a quintessence -
my elixir of carefree pride

Nestling in trust
Dozing dazed in delight of you,
feeling our warmth spill relief
upwelling with the strength of you
The sanctuary
That sole solitary
solid rock of love
In an ocean
unrespited with lonliness;
as you work. And I sleep.

You have well described the sanctuary of your life in words of heart.

Well done.

Absolutely beautiful write, Mario...I, too, was captivated right until the end. I really enjoyed this!

everytime I close my eyes, I see your face, I taste you on my lips...
every night I fantasize that I can feel you on my fingertips...

Thanks Wynter, AT and SP !

Sometimes I wonder if I'm posting in the right forum here - would Dark Passions be more appropriate for this type of writing?

Glad you saw something in it anyhow - and I've enjoyed reading your works.

LOL,

Mario.
