Beyond the Moon
Virginia Salter

someone stole my wide awake
put it in a sugar cake
tossed t’other side of moon
where dish entertained spoon

where streams of milk
in chocolate seas
sweetened up and tasted me

where children laugh
beyond the stars
silhouettes are ice cream bars

words and plants
sing and dance
golden apples play

where dustmen
roll on distant shores
sunlight beams stream
to the stars

where mothers waltz
with kings and knights
and darkness fades into the night

and you and I are one

Virginia, I enjoyed the progressive playfulness of your poem. Thank you.

Thanks, again, ALL!  So happy to share this one, cuz it tickles me. I love it when I can get playful with my poetry.  It's akin to tickling my daughter under the chin when she was an infant up to being a toddler.  Glad you have enjoyed this one!
