Were Those Lies..?

Were those lies
or my paranoia?
Should I pry
or would it just annoy ya?

Day has dawned
yet dark still lingers here.
Words you spawned
grow languid in the beer.

Beads of perspiration
have dried in salty pools.
Your recreation
is making me a fool.

Why do I linger
in the dust your spinning brings?
Should I not go
and sever all these strings?

If I turn away
and walk into the night
What will you say
will you try to fight

For any part of me
or what I’ve been to you?
Is the heart of me
your reason to be cruel?

I must just go
and leave you to the sharks.
You’ve made it plain
our love has lost its spark.
