Words
Virginia Salter

words speed out so quickly when a fire has bid them go
a fire so irrational makes words that one should stow

yet fly on out and make a mess of relationships and days
as each and everyone around in agony does pay

if only there could be a way to grab them in the air
to pull them back and stuff them in a magnetizing chair

toss them in the kitchen sink and grind them to pulp
then with delight and thankfulness hear disposal gulp

or better yet, to sprinkle them with lovely pixie dust
transforming them to lively words that build a stronger trust

That would be wonderful, wouldn't it, Virginia! Good poem! This theme reminded me of one of my oldies....think I'll go dig it up, blow the dust off it and repost it!

Nice, Virginia.     You have some great suggestions for what to do with those unpleasant words.  Wish we could really do some of those things!

Yep, that kitchen sink bit could help a lot - if we only could!  Good old keepa da mouth shutta would be a great fix too, if only we could learn to do so.

What can I say?  If you invented a button that would do that, I would buy it...everyone would buy it.  And the world would be a kinder, gentler...saner place.  Absolutely loved it!!
