Keep in mind, if you're the type that gets offended easily, don't read on.  I wrote this when I was frustrated and thought it was actually kinda cute.  Doubt any of you will see it that way, but heck, I'm postin' it anyway!

Please don’t give me right or wrong
but poets just don’t get along!
We all express what makes us tick
and criticism makes us sick.

How does it feel to be ignored,
to write something and not be floored
by many people stopping by
to say “congrats” or “nice try”?

I’ve been elsewhere and I know
that anytime I’m free to go.
But sometimes I just get so mad
that poets just behave so bad!

I’ve tried to win the love of you,
to share my dreams and losses, too.
But most of you refuse to write
a little note, perhaps for spite?

And some of you think you’re so great;
it always seems I’m much too late
to make you happy, feel my joy.
And don’t believe my heart a toy!

By sharing all the things we feel
we get a glimpse, so unreal,
of what each other feels inside,
of all the secrets that we hide.

You might scoff, tell me to go.
But, honey, I’ll just tell you no!
I tire of the lofty airs
when I visit poets’ lairs!

You’ll listen now and listen well,
you’ll hear all I have to tell!
Keep in mind there are a few
who lend a hand a time or two.

I’m grateful to those who have writ
a note, a simple little bit.
It means more than a book in size,
in fact it is the better prize.

So to you who stop and sign
our little messages in rhyme,
or simply say a line or two
I’d like to say that I love you.

To those of you who always spurn
let me remind you of your turn.
If you have nothing at all to say
that’s nice then please just go away.

Well, you've expressed yourself well in this piece PoeticEnchantress, and the meter and flow was great. The forums really do move pretty quickly around here. It happens to us all, but we still call it home.

Best wishes,

Poetic Enchantress,
this is not to justify actions for this can never be, but sometimes there are just too many poems and not enough time to read and comment, so good poems and poets get missed and it's not intentional,it's life.
I liked this and did not think it was too much although it was obvious you were miffed!

Hi PE...

I liked this one.  It was cute, but it really expresses how I feel when I read a REALLY good poem here, and no one responds to it.  Thanks to your poem, I have made a vow to try to always comment in some way to a poem that touches me on any level.

Thanks for sharing.

hehe, it was fun to write.  Is that strange?  And I know it happens to everyone.  I just wrote it to get out my frustration.  Never intended to post it but it was just too funny (from my PoV).

Excellent flow and theme   Clever and true in some cases! Unfortunately many great poems get passed by because open poetry is very fast paced nowadays.  It upsets me, as well, when some poems get 60 replies and other poems, that are just as great that are by unknowns, get only 2.  I hope that all of the poets in this forum, gets the chance to read this gem

Take care,
Melissa

I know how you feel....it's awful to write and have no one respond or very few then to see someone else have a million responses. I understood all you expressed and was not offended.

*laughs*  Don't you find it rather unsettling that the poem that got more responses than all my others happened to be one that bashes the Passions forums?  How ironic...

And thanks, it sucks when poets with awesome poems rarely get many notes.  I make sure that if i'm around and see a poem with few posts, i read that one FIRST and comment.  Love ya all!

Alright,
What else you got around that' cute... I'll just head over and take a look. Oh by the way Sis... You may think siblings look better than you... But it's your heart and what you write that makes you special. Where'd you get that make up anyway..? Do you watch Star Trek..? This was a very good piece... You just tell me where I can see more.

I know that it can be frustrating and I have to admit that I don't get to reply to as many as I would like and only reply to about 1/3 of the ones I read.  There are times when I don't have the time to and then of course I am guilty of failing to come up with the proper words.   All poets deserve to know how their works are viewed and I know I should make a more consertive effort to spreading my replies around.  In other words....I am guilty of falling into a routine roster to reply to but I will make more of an effort to find those that have few replies.   Just so you know.......judging by the replies you have on this one, I feel safe in saying that you probably have this many AND MORE reading ALL of your works but many don't reply.  So rest assured, no matter how many replies you get on a single post...it is probably being enjoyed by at least double that or more.

Poet,
Although Im new at posting here,I have been reading for some time.
I have to agree with what you have expressed in your writing....BUT I also think that you too have passed some by without a comment.
We are all guilty of passing over someone at one time or another.
Like others have said above, with so many good poems it`s hard to post a thought on everyone.
Keep up the good work.

Sometimes it's very hard to keep up with things here. I myself spend very little time online anymore sue to health problems and other reasons. I drop by passions from time to time to read a few poems and post a poem or two of my own. I find I'm guilty of reading poetry from some of my favorites here that are good friends and I've known for a few years...with such little time, I can't find the strength or willpower to tackle so many others at this point in my life. If that makes me a "snob", then so be it...but I've always encouraged anyone who has a work that they really wish me to see to simply e-mail me a link and I'd be more than happy to read it.
just MHO on this one

I've felt this way a time or two and I'm willing to bet many others have too. I admire you for saying it.

Maybe this will help....to take on the attitude I have about writing. I write for myself first. Any and all responses to my poems are icing on the cake, that little added bonus not expected but certainly appreciated. (Afterall, if we're posting we do hope it touches someone and they say so

This was a very fun poem to read and I am sure you are merely echoing the sentiments felt by the majority of us at one time or another.

I like feats of daring do, and I'm glad you had the courage to post this. I don't find it at all offensive, because I have felt the same frustrations from time to time.
Just keep writing and posting. If a poem you like slips to the back too fast, why not bring it back yourself and say hey, guys , please tell me what you think of this one. Chances are it slipped because of the number of posts. That happens to everyone'

Hi PoeticEnchantress,

H'mmmm, I must say that you certainly have expressed how you felt that frustrating day when you wrote this. However, I can't agree with all of what you say. I have found that many, many of the poets here, are the greatest people I have had the pleasure of meeting. But I do say, it is very well written.

Sorta copying Mark and Bill here, don't totally agree but in essence do...I know I don't comment on near as many as I read. Some because I don't want to, most because for me to read and comment on a piece takes several minutes to complete with my "computer" and if I commented on all I read, I'd get to read so few.  I do agree all probably  deserve comment, and I too, often bump ones that seem to have been overlooked, per my likes/dislikes.

Then, too, you have to realize the volume of works on this forum and it's very easy to have a work sent way down the line without being "seen" properly by others...just from the sheer volume of postings, both comments and new ones - more the reason to start reading on page 2 - 3 - 4 - or 5 sometimes.

There is no good or one answer. You have to realize not everyone feels they want to comment on a particular piece, for many reasons, but in general I think Passions Poets do very well and, as is said...stiff upper lip, my friend...keep writing, keep reading; so will the rest of us.

I enjoyed this write, as I have others of yours.

jwesley

p.s. - I came back in to read "all" the comments in here as didn't do that the first time round,
and in response to your last comment,(below - and don't take this as chastising...it's not) I, for one, cannot, will not promise to read all postings whether they have 20 comments or none.  And If someone, or all don't want to read my work...that's fine too, I'm not gonna get upset; it was my choice to post, it's theirs whether to read it or not.  I, too, like many other's, have had several "slip by" unnoticed, but, hey, that's part of the game.

It seems you have found a way to get lots of responses...I admit lots of responses make me happy and few responses have me wondering what's it all about...yes I like to be noticed...you have to admit this is a nice place to express feelings and creativity and if we can accept the fact that some write to large audiences and some to small soon happiness will be flowing as a river...James

If you ppl would read my other comments, you'd learn that I KNOW that ppl here are nice and don't mean to bump poems to the bottom without reading or commenting on them.  I've also stated that i'm guilty of it myself, but I reply as often as I can.  I even go back and bring poems from earlier in the day to the top again.  No, I don't believe I deserve a medal or anything for it, but guys, if u see a poem that has so few replies, comment or at least read and see if u want to.  I have a poem on here that didn't get a single response.  At all.  And, while I DO write for myself, to see that no one even READ it that was brave enough to comment is rather discouraging...

That is about all that I can say.  This was funny.  I can't take offense to this.  I think that this is wonderful and at times I have felt the same way too, but there was no way that I could have put it the way that you did.  I would have just seemed rude.
