This one was from a challenge on another site.  To write a poem with the title herein.

Hidden Corners of My Mind
Virginia Salter

a secret place, from friends and lovers,
even kin don’t know what’s there
and quite often, it’s my endeavor
to keep it hidden from my own care

to ignore the needs that dwell
within the recesses deep in folds
to place walls that bar my vision
denying grips that grab to hold

for if I know not what needs attention
it can’t plague me hour by hour
then perhaps my “Pollyanna”
can see rainbows in a shower

as I venture keeping burdens
secreted deep in a vault
I may entertain the notion
what goes wrong’s just not my fault

if errant ways don’t show their faces
how might anyone yell, “Shame!”
so I’ll claim there are no traces
of that which I’d be given blame

yet there is One of great omniscience
that sees beyond my foolish tries
even those I feed my conscience
attempting hide what therein lies

so then with humble adoration
I relent my inane ways
and in deep prayer of supplication
I give to Him past/future days

Oh this is just so so true...what we try to hide from ourselves can never be hidden from God,,,but still we try...this is great

VAS, good morning.  Powerful one here.  I think you've lived up to your challenge.  I'ts so difficult to keep a part of who we are hidden and locked up inside.  I feel you.  Great job!

HUGS!
