The Garden Of Scented Sighs

I like to think of Passions as a kind of garden so full of flowers
Each poet is a flower with his or her very own fragrant powers
There are the rose poets their colours varying and scents divine
Their words and forms are as perfect as the rose time after time
Scenting the air as you wander in this garden of fragrant delight
Calling forth the pictures and the colours that enliven the light
The song of the summer as it drowses in the morning sunshine
And the promises of the night within the gift of the poetic line

There are the aromatic shrubs and herbs, lavender, heather, sage
The poetic delights that fill the senses as they rise up from the page
They beguile the unwary and drench us in their heavenly scent
Making the reader wonder and search for what the poet meant
Each of these poets knows their power held within to stir a heart
And they summon the readers' soul to the garden never to depart
Lavender poets stir the senses calms and soothes and calls to you
Aromatic poetic writers their words are both powerful and true

There are the poets of the delicate orchids, and the daisy so sweet
There are poetic writers of the jasmin that calls out offering heat
Words from these writers wreath the soul in their heat and flame
Calling the fire to erupt, calling you again to play the love game
The evergreens of sweet pines its fresh tangy scent tells of wood
Where nature lovers wander contentedly enjoying all they should
The scents that flow on the breezes powered by your writers pen
Will always enchant me and call me back to this now and when

In amongst the beauty tucked well within the many scented blooms
There is the occasional weed that flourishes in the perfumed gloom
But a weed is a flower too and needs its place to grow tall and free
So I'll remove the weeds and replant tham in a place for them to be
And although they aren't considered special they do have their place
The butterflies love them seemingly to prefer their simple quiet grace
In amongst the poets who all gather in this garden of scented sighs
I will lose my heart, and my soul and one day I as a poet will arise

Marsha,
I'm definitely a flower AND weed sort of person, so this was a good read for me.  I GOTTA work on the longer line poem like this.
Now you are an inspiration too.

Krawdad, thank you love, I'm so pleased you enjoyed it. Welcome to Passions, This is the best place to be, it really is, just being here is an inspiration. But if you want the real McCoy, the best inspiration, then I seriously suggest, that you read just as much as you can. But choose for yourself a worthy role model love, a mentor that can help guide you through the maze of metre, metaphor and style. (And although I understand all those terms I didn't in the beginning) And above all have fun.
Take care

'Deer love, you are far too kind dear heart,
and I thank you sincerely. A whole bouquet, yes love you mean 'bouquet garni' I know.   As for scents, if I had more, I wouldn't be seeking sage advice   Thanks love you know I appreciate you don't you.
Take care love
