and now, for me, I hope, transcend...

it takes a fall to rise again

my treasured hope to but ascend

and shelter flame of soul within.

My mind she thinks too much I think

as I walk step in blind of blink

a footfall in the sand of sink

the journey of the fool on brink

upon the cliff unknowing stride

to be so blind eyes open wide

may all my doubt be cast aside

that as I fall, grow wings to fly!

Grant me courage in despair

flailing feet to rise in air

bereft of net, and freed of care--

Ascend to find me waiting there.

It takes a fool to journey brave

to leave familiar comfort's grave-

perhaps the pawn CAN take the knave

and cease remorseless un-named crave.

Rapture me unto the throne...

and sate my longing to be home.

Ahh the journey upwards

As I see in souls ascending

"It takes a fool to journey brave
to leave familiar comfort's grave-"

That line says a mouthful dear... But then not many have found happiness in comfort's compromise either. Hey, who you calling fool, anyway?

serenity, I really enjoyed this. Especially...

It takes a fool to journey brave
to leave familiar comfort's grave-
perhaps the pawn CAN take the knave
and cease remorseless un-named crave.

Hey Celeste! This is excellent writing my dear poet friend and I agree with the above quotes on that particular verse it's so full of searching thoughts!

The poet is like a cocoon; in him the caterpillar of the past finds rest, and from him the butterfly of the future emerges.

the rhyme here is wonderful, I wonder if only fools believe they are safe?
I enjoyed this one, serenity, very, very much.

"My mind she thinks too much I think"

Not at all! *S* This is fine thinking wrapped in rhyme. *S* Well done!
