If I could get some glitter on here to decorate it I would. This is an old sibling joke about my love of glitter, and my slightly off centre dress sense!!

Marsha Don't Go Out Tonight

Marsha you've put glitter on your nails and sparkles in your hair
Don't tell us please that you plan on going out somewhere
You've put on that dress that's split right up your thigh
And you know how much the sight of it makes your sisters sigh
They say it makes you look as if you were selling somthing very cheap
You reply by saying that at least you're not a fashion sheep
Oh Marsha don't go out for the night
Oh Marsha why don't you dim your light

It's hard to compete against them, they're all as blonde as they can be
Their legs seem to go up and up and you're only five foot three
You wear your slinky frock to try and put them in the shade
And when they see you coming how quickly their smiles begin to fade
They say, Marsha, really do you have to wear that wretchedly glitzy frock?
You reply, Oh now stop it girls tonight I really want to rock
Oh Marsha don't go out on the town
Oh Marsha don't let your smile go down

Marsha I can think of lots of ways you'd have a much better time tonight
You could stay at your home and then you wouldn't have a catty fight
You'd not have to wear a dress that shows far too much of you
You could sit with friends and read poetry that is both pure and true
After a glass of wine, nice music and then some Belgian chocs for you to eat
Tell all your sisters saying oh girls I'm giving myself a real treat
Oh Marsha don't wear that frock at all
Oh Marsha please hear my friendly call

So you're going to wear that dress whatever anyone tries telling you
Just don't wear those awful tarty stockings whatever else you do
It's bad enough that the dress has a split almost to your hip
But if you put on those stockings too, you'll give them all the pip
Do you really need to wear quite so much glitter on your fingers and hair
You could supply the Christmas fairy and still have more to spare
Oh Marsha why do you like glitter so
Oh Marsha please, oh no, no, no, no

Marsha

Paula love, it's the dress I tried giving to P T, and it's really lovely, well I like it. But my sisters to a woman absolutely hate it, there they all are, in tasteful little black dresses, and then I stroll in. It's just not a quiet little number you know what I mean! It sort of says (Oh Hello Boys   ) I think those sliver sandels would go with it a treat, it they shine they'll guaranteed my vote.        Now if you want to borrow it, just let me know, and I'll send it over.   Oh and I've got a little silver bag to go with it, just big enough for some lippy and a a very small purse.
Take care

(Oh hope you enjoy your poem !)

Startime, thanks love, no thats true I never get complaints. Actually my sisters don't complain they just sigh a lot and ask me if I have any taste at all. I have got taste, it's just not their taste. Meaning its not discrete and quiet. No never ever quiet.
I'm the one sipping the Pina Colada, while they are having some wine. (But we love each other really honestly   )
Thank you muchly
Take care

Marsha,

hehehehehehehehehehehehehe!!
you have a killer wit and excellent style. After all take it from one who knows, my favourite evening dress is purple velour, with gold sequins from neck to knee in the shape of a dragon. Trust me any man I go out with is gonna be dazzled (one way or another)
You could do worse than listen to my advice.
*HuGS* love ya heaps.

Marsha,
This is so cute!
And I think I love the dress
Please do wear it.
And tell your sisters not to forget their jewelry. Black can be so boring!
Have fun!

Remind me to call on you
in your fancy frock and glittery shoes
to come and sit around with me
when I write my poetry
for you shall be the sparkle bright
and brings them in for me to write
about the fantasies that I see
when Marsha's sitting next to me!

Loved it!

Paula, Red with silver sparkles, Oh I love it, do you think they have it in my size love. Oh what the heck I'll get it anyway. No you wear it and we'll all hit the town. The sisters will disown us, but they're just jealous. Who needs the little black dress, it might be a classic, but I'm never the one who fades into the background. Even when I'm the designated driver, I'm still the last one out of the bar / restaurant / club or whatever and the first one in.

Circe, you'd look stunning in a burlap sack, it matters not what you're wearing, you shine anyway. Now me, it's a case of I'd rather have diamante and glitter than a small discrete anything. And if you want to borrow anything I'm bound to have something suitable. (Well, totally unsuitable really, but the more outrageous it is The more likely I am to have it) It's their own faults they keep saying Marsha dear heart, why don't you.... and I just stop listening.
I'm glad it makes you smile, it certainly makes me grin.

Kethry, love it sounds divine, Oh wouldn't we all look like birds of paradise, utterly wonderful. A golden dragon, Oh wow, I had a shantung once that was utterly beautiful. The sisters said it looked like I had just stopped work   but I loved it. It was sky blue, with a dragon that started at the right shoulder and wound up and the left hip. It was split to, and yes it was indecent, but well.... more sort of indoor dress. Thank you love, can you just see us all strolling into the Liquid Lounge, Oh wouldn't they just love us.
Hugs right back to you love, one day when i win this lottery I'm coming over and we can have a great time.   (At least no one ever says Oh I didn't notice you there. Do they!!)

Elizabeth, even when they do wear their jewellery, it's always the quiet kind. I've got sparkles in my hair, my silver pendent, and my silver gypsy bangles, and they have on one ring, one thin bracelet, and pearls or a simple chain. I sit there, refracting light all over the place and they are all saying. Chaos, tone it done love. Never mind, I put it all down to being a middle sister. They all put it down to a rogue gene.   Oh yes I'll be wearing the dress, after all, I have a reputation to uphold
Thanks love

Kari love, just don't sit me in direct sunlight love. What do you mean sit, we'd be rocking on through the night. And I know you'd love it, one of those dresses that I just had to have. Actually I saw it and thought now that will get them going, and it did. I walked in and because I live the furthest away, I was last in. We'd arranged to all meet in the lounge of the hotel, and I strolled in and they all just stopped talking and stared. Oh it was priceless. Absolute heaven. (Aren't I wicked   )
Yes I know very wicked

Dee, Oh love, thank you muchly, silver utterly divine, Oh yes I can see you in it now. If I ever get a photo taken in it I promise I'll post it for you
I've got some strappy little diamante shoes with an ankle turning heel, and they are divine.
(Actually I'm 5' 5" but that didn't rhyme, but they are all taller than me )

Glow, Marsha~ Glow

Give me the glamour !
Give me the glitz !
Give me a dress
to the hip that is split !
Give me some sparkle
with lots of silver bangles.
Then give me some earrings
with flashing dangles  !

I'll be the hit of the party it's true,
but that's the way it goes.
When I flit in - with a bit of a grin
the sisters will scream - Oh, No !

But when the Prince comes calling
with slipper made of crystal glass
Sisters will faint when my so dainty foot
fits it to a T !
And then we'll see who's laughing at who
and they can kiss my royal **patoot** !

Marge, thank you love, and how do you get sparkles on there, Oh why am I soooo inept at these things. I think I must just be decorative, well and I know how to liven up a party.   I'm going to show them this, they will die. (Of jealousy naturally   )
Oh I love this it is la creme d'la creme.
Superb love, utterly delicious.

Such fun and folly in your rhyme.

Marge, thank you love, I've always thought and I must admit it does seem to be true, that no matter how bad things are, a smile makes me feel better. So although my sisters to a woman say that I'm not only a hopeless romantic, but also an incurable optimist. I would rather that than lose sight of hopes and dreams. Because if you stopped looking how do you know if you'd missed it. And you know I love the company I keep here, everyone is a gem.   And a smile sent out is such an easy thing to do, and who knows that it might be needed by a lonely soul. So tell me how do I get sparkles, because I'd really love those. Although with my taste for glitter, they would quite likely turn up everywhere.

Richard, thank you kid, well if you ever find yourself strolling along Brighton seafront, give me a call. (Not that I live in Brighton anymore but all the sisters do) And I'll make sure I wear the dress, maybe it's not beach wear but never mind.
I'm pleased it made you smile, it made the barman smile too, you've never seen such a flurry of orders for brandy. (The shock you know!!) Well I think it was the shock, no actually it was very probably jealousy.

Still we all had a good time, (And don't believe them when they say they didn't, it's a fib.   )
