In the garden daffodils,
As the wind in silence stills,
Comes first hush of evening's skies,
While high above, an angel cries.
O' Gentle Rose, thy precious bloom,
Two springtimes past, from mother's womb,
Rent by storms of worldly pain,
Ever shall with us remain,
Amid the glory of the garden,
As we seek of mercy's pardon,
For our failures, in thy caring,
Ever in our sorrow sharing.

In the garden, daffodils,
A Gentle Rose, in silence stills.

Mike~
Daffodils and roses ...
doesn't get much prettier than that !
Just a lovely, lovely write from your pen.
You give me Sunday *sighs*.

O Mike, this is so sad...and haunting...but thank you for sharing...

I love to read a poet's words when the expression is coupled with flowers, and this one was.....what a combination...daffodils and roses...I'm waiting for my seed catalog!

This poem is most beautifully written, and so sad!  I'm so sorry for the loss of your little Gentle Rose.  Christmas is hard, remembering a little one gone from us.  I am a bereaved mommy too.  Please give little Rose's mommy a hug from me, and thank you for sharing!

They live on in the heart, Mike, of caring people like you. There would be much more pain and suffering for the little ones in this world without you. Always remember that you do make a difference.
