Listening to every heart

in flight through dream

not often, no,
never plenteous
is the interval between
the extant prize

freedom

when most tiredness comes
from restlessness
of soul

when one's spirit
is bound by commitment

but there is a span of moment
when
the zealous soul
can take flight, if there comes
the dream

come, dream

come swift the interval
of inbetween, after
the uneasiness
and lassitude lend
the expanse between
erratic sleep
and restless groan

and in Cimmerian
imagination

betwixt the eyelid
and penumbra of midnight

now, attend, and take flight with me

come take height with me

as then in the reverie
to see ourselves from without
and within

and you, in sheerest skin

take care, not to burst the bubble
vigilant as not to burst the dream

thus pathos steals over we
in the intent of dark's dream
of freedom

and as our arms lie quiescent,
serenely by our sides
through thought of mind only,
careful, take care not to burst the dream

might I through thought
raise we up, up, beyond
the limb of the tree, breath held,

up over the roof, careful not to
touch the tile, lest burst the
bubble of elevation, up, careful,
mental
image
up

and now, don't look, don't look
but by my side, as you have
traveled upward with me,
we might float over, and spy
on all below, the lights of the city
bright, blinking, telling we
to ascend
higher, higher

and we float,
so soft, and fly, so high
flighting higher, sighting skies
of firefly light
lightening bright

in thunderless night

and silken robes then grace our
form, and soft we feel
in all we are
warm

then to extend arms
to weave through
this night's time of symphony
of quiet, quiet, come
what may
in seamless dream
no flight delayed,

and the tingle of the skin
translucent in silvery flight
stretch your fingers and grasp
my hand
to tingle together in
paired delight

then to slow, now, in descent of
flight, shhhh,
stay quiet not to burst
this dream

to fall to earth
in restlessness
and tiredness as grows slight
the light,
on horizon's night,
ending now
this dream of flight

praise comes to you
for attending to me

as we skimmed toward
freedom of night

in flight through dream

Kari, that is an awesome poem, I've got goosebumps, oh this is outstandingly beautiful, even by your standards. This is incandescent, transcends mortal realm and flies light as an angels whisper and beautiful as the light from an infants face. I'm gobsmacked, again, (I'm sorry mam, Kari made me say it!) and stunned.   Love this one love absolutely adore it.
Take care

I LOVE when this happens!!! And you portrayed it perfectly...and you are right, it is total freedom. I'd go to sleep right now, if I thought I could make it happen again...sigh...it's been awhile...but thank you for the reminder of it!

Sometimes that dream becomes a loving reality...............

A dream, so you thought.
reality in loving.
your dreams can be real.

Oh wonderful love
turn dreams to reality
as our love should be
