This doesn't much go with the season, but I was sort of inspired by a poem posted here. This just seems best done in the manner of Rod McKuen. ================================================= I was raised by a soldier to be a soldier. To fight In far off lands. My father replied, when I asked about fear, “In combat, if someone tells you they are unafraid they are either a liar or a fool.” The beach lies ahead Dark and deserted. We land with no opposition. Thank God! A flare, A shot, A scream, All hell breaks loose. I am not a liar or a fool. |

It's unimaginable what humans do...to me, war is insanity - in it's most naive context. I will not pretend to know what to say in the face of your flashbacks. I just admire you for being able to face them, and write about them. Thanks for sharing. K |
