Whispers of remembrance

Oh, the whispers of remembrance
Tickle not the ear
When memories we wish to hide
Spring forth and kindle fear.
~*~
The fear of hearing thoughts long dead
Buried in our mind
Disables us in happy times
Remembrance not so kind
~*~
Grateful are we who can recall
Those sweet memories.
Truth be told, a majority,
Yes, will put us at ease.
~*~
We think of love lost and it hurts.
The remembering.
Forgetting the deep joy we felt
That love, alone, will bring.
~*~
We were so loved and it was fine
To bask in love’s glow.
Yet, love is never gone away
It just rests there below.
~*~
Below the surface of our mind.
Underneath the skin
Of callous thoughts protecting us
Lest we let love back in.
~*~
But when that next true love arrives
As it surely will
We rejoice and begin anew,
Our fears becoming nil.
~*~
Oh, yes, those thoughts will still be there
Buried very deep.
Covered with new, true love you see
Knowing our love will keep.
~*~
Rest easily there in love’s arms
You DO like it so.
Go on with life, it will not wait,
And let your true love show.
~*~

To love, to love, true
wrapped, warped in the depth of you
true, to love, to you

I would rather be silent and write, than speak loudly and be bound.
