Struggling steadily to overcome emotion
Of yearning for love that is not mine
To have and to hold until all the clocks
Stop spinning around inside the fairground
That has sheltered my mind
Since before the dawn of time
Lost in a world of make believe.

A paternal preach through a looking glass
Showed me promise of saddened dreams
He was still a man of courage
With all life gone he sits alone
Wondering what his road may be
Not for him a retiring Grace
Struggling to accept his pattern of life.

Woman lies upon bed of thorns
Loving herself outside of pain
Distantly connected to the events
That are taking place before her
Floating Palaces smokily drift by
As she watches herself scream out loud
A voice that is never heard and she floats away.

Child of Damage holds his knees hidden apart
His head bowed low only hair visible
in the closet above two paragons of despair
That stick out reminding him
That either way he loses -
He leaves he dies, he stays he dies.
Paradoxically - he laughs at his situation.

Acceptance of our hearts intentions
Was never going to be a reflection of reality
As we all ponder why they can do to life
What they could not do to themselves
A self-fullfilling prophesy that demeans
The wholeness with which we are born
If only our hearts could release the anguish.
But we must accept that we must hold the pain.

Wishmaster. 2000

Wishmaster--this is awe-inspiring. Left me feeling sort of winded...I especially loved--

"he leaves he dies, he stays he dies.
Paradoxically - he laughs at his situation."

The whole thing is just fantastic! What a portrait of the shadows of life. Incredible.

Thank you, each stanza reflects a conversation I have had with several people who have experienced what was described in thier own lives. Such was their hidden pain, I was inspired enough to write this. The first stanza is my own story.

To accept a hearts intention is to take the first step towards loving it in agrement . Loved the poem, you have captured pure brilliance in this poem, The depth, meaning and irony, build up a story I know only to well - The story of life .
I enjoyed reading it thanx .
