     Discovery

I dream my lips are soft
like a rose
of velvet slowly opening
the fast forward of desert rain
that wakes the sleeping tendrils
and a symphony sweeps across fields of color

I dream a song a love song
that is like the whisper of the wind
across the prairie
that stirs and blurs the golden
and weaves summer sounds of midnight
on the deck of crossing some ocean
and a storm is coming

I dream I dream of the storm
that draws energy from my core
and throws it into my center
where desire waits on white sheets
to split time with a sigh

Such dreams visit me
that I know I’m drowning
and the captain is missing
for there is just a wild rolling
taking me down into silent water
into a green and golden and gray
down down past breath past song
into the silt of my own discovery.

depth...yes....layers... yes....
complex...yes....
wow my dear...you went deep for this...
and its wonderful to make your discoveries...
this poem is so cool in its metaphors and imagery and dream illusions...
and those lips....they are like roses
beautiful read sweet poet...
call the captain home...tell him to meet ya in the rose garden
love to ya
me

Sprayed across my heart and hers
Danced butterflies in the wild
This angel, this woman ,
who loves me with the innocence of a child.

Martie, the prairies get a rousing welcome from me...this had it all...you gave it all...he'll come back to claim it all...

this is marvelous...

Martie-
your words simply sing to me...

'I dream my lips are soft
      like a rose
      of velvet slowly opening
the fast forward of desert rain
      that wakes the sleeping tendrils
and a symphony sweeps across fields of color'

   absolutely beautiful, my friend..

I believe I discover a new Martie with each post of yours I read.
I believe you are the most inventive self-discovering poet here.
And you'll never be buried in silt ~G~
