Listening to every heart

A Christmas Letter to Lost Love

Synchronized with the season
Seems to be the only reason
That cool brisk wind of fall
Has given way to a colder call

Throughout the night ringing chimes
Sang to and fro by winter’s touch
Bringing with them much rhyme
Of winter solstice dreams, and such

So I fantasized of an icy winter’s land
Steaming cocoa, warm mittened hand
Snowflakes kissing freckled cheek
Children waiting for Santa’s peek

Concurrent too, was me missing you
Wondering how you are, where you be
Seems the wind brought memory
Of the long-ago way things used to be

So my heart pined to hear the wind sing
Across the crystal icy winter scene
As it brought back sweet memories
Of the long-ago way things used to be

For Wind Song was your favorite scent
But cool was the way you’d become
When warmth had left your heart at home
To other horizons you’d then run

You left the deep toned chimes behind
I could not bear to take them down
For they remind me of when you were mine
Even though you’ve long since left town

So as the breath of cold from north
Comes to ring these sweet old chimes
Do not pine away for me my dear
As one day I shall find better times

I would rather be silent and write, than speak loudly and be bound.

ooh...great visual and auditory with the chimes...liked it much

"Glory remains unaware of my neglected dwelling where alone
I sing my tearful song which has charms only for me."
