She

I’ve never seen a face more fair
Nor touched such lovely locks of hair
In pretty pink her rosebud cheeks
Are velvet soft at petal’s peak

Two piercing eyes like jewels of light
Outshining all the stars at night
Two littlehands of dimpled skin
A heart of innocence within

In frilly skirt and puffy sleeves
In worn out jeans in autumn leaves
No matter when or where the place
She’ll always be a child of grace

She’ll come to me with tears someday
And listen close to all I say
She’ll sit upon my lap and rest
Her little head upon my breast

And as she grows, I’ll be right there
To listen to her every care
And tell her that her beauty lies
Hidden deep within her eyes

And knowing this, she’ll say and do
The things her heart allows her to
I’ll promise her that all along
Her grandma’s love is true and strong

Envisioning her face so fine
I see this grandaughter of mine
The finest jewel upon the earth
As I await her day of birth

Liz,
this verse expresses the perfect picture of what a grandparent is. Evocative and vivid, well done

How lovely to be able to have such a beautiful picture of your granddaughter while still waiting for her entrance.  I can tell you are going to be a wonderful grandmother to this child because your love shines through your beautiful poetry.

Oh, what joy !
You have such a loving heart ...
I hope she's just like her grandma.

Love you
