The Muse and the Moon

My muse was stolen by the moon
on it's chase through the skies to dawn
Muse went merrily, don't you know
and followed the true poet's song

I shouldn't have stayed up so late
writing one night a while back
with computer glare before me
and night's sky so starlit and black

I felt her hovering over my shoulder
my writing got a wee bit bolder
then she'd whip to the top of my head
with tickling wit her innuendo spread

that sly little muse was laughing at me
her humor was so quickly miasmatic
had I known then what I know now
I'd have locked her up quick in the attic!

We struggled a bit with form and flare
for I was attempting to respond to a challenge
and while my fingers flew and flew
my muse plotted her own little revenge!

A tap on the window caught my ear
I looked over and almost swooned!
My muse had caught the merry eye
of that jocular Man in the Moon!

"Ta-ta!" said she, as she caught a moonbeam
which into my darkened room streamed
"Wheee!" said she, as the wind grew colder
"I'm off to sit on Marge's shoulder…!"

So being the fickle muse that she is
I'm grinning at my screen anyway…
as I'm sure Marge's darling muse
will ultimately head my way.

When the moon views
A sunshine's muse
I don't see how
We can lose.

Sunshine's dreams
On paper reams
Will be converted
Into moonbeams!

Love it, shiney one

Mr. Yeats, you think so? I had SO much fun concocting this little piece...still giggling...

'Deer - a poem...for me?  You gallant, you!

Mark, maybe a jolt, but not the end!

Guys, thanks for reading!

I've often wondered where my muse goes too from time to time.   )  Maybe they need to take breaks from writing as we do...  Nice work.

Karilea~
I hug you to pieces ! !
What a precious pondering !

Soooooooooo, that explains the 'new voice' in night !

Moonbeams dancing with delight
sharing the muse of the night
Back and forth she does flit
giving us BOTH a merry fit !

A very fickle tickle, indeed !
LOVE IT !
I'm grinning from ear to ear !
Love YOU !

Awww the moon may have taken a small break but we know the SUN is yours forever. How do we know this? Because of the way you always shine so brightly.

How can your muse ever refuse
Your wishes that she stay?
I'm now confused, I'm so obtuse,
Your poem's better than OK.

As for 'Deer, what's he doing here?
I'd hoped he'd stay away.
To me its clear, I'm sincere,
But he just wants to play.

Minstrel, indeed they do...

Marge...fickle tickle indeed!!! LOL!!!
Love it! Hugs, you!

Sven, now you have to do a poem about pipes...the musical kind...

JM...when you're next out on your pass...you can kiss the moon...

Juls, you sweet thing...thank you...

Nan, be my guest...I'll make dessert, you can come for coffee...

LJA, obtuse?  Never.  Silly?  Thankfully always...

Cat...they WERE mooning around on Page 1 for awhile, weren't they!?

Thank you everyone!
