Wearing You

I'm kissing you
Your lips. neck
And nether places
In my imagination,
The scent of you lingers
On me
On my lips
On my face

Wearing you there
Thinking  of no one else
How you moved
To my touch
Still feeling you there

Intoxicated
With your taste
You stay with me
Till morning's shower

~You have to have a dream so you can get up in the morning.

Nicely done Mr. Yeats....aren't you just the romantic....me too yanno?...LOL.....sometimes I really do get serious.....I usually see a shrink when that happens though.....and believe me, it's been serious a bunch of times.....this makes ya think of certain moments with certain loves of the past.....I sometimes would love to be water....I envy water, the way it can touch a woman all over at the same time....yanno what I mean?....Oh....that's okay....not many know what I mean most of the time....nice poem here though.....

Yes....I too have been there!
There is nothing like waking up to the scent you love so much!
Wilfred you've said it well.

I too, have been there!  Many's the time, year after year, I stayed in bed, just enjoying that familiar and intoxicating scent, and purposely rejected that shower!  Ahem ... I'd better stop here!

I suffer from loss of memory... but that's okay Rj plays a re-run every morning. I'm glad she stopped there.

Bill...The sense of smell is one of the most special...for lingering in and for remembering, and your poem is a loving and sensual reminder.

Dale -
Judging by the success of your partnership - I've no doubt - Sadly for me the memory is rare and the treasure of my dreams is yet to be realized. but thank you

RJ-
Once achieved - it is an unforgetable experience - a memory we treasure

Toerag-
I love the water thing you describe - I think you should write about it in a comparable poem - Thank you

Bill C-
Sometimes a memory is so vivid - the desire to relive it becomes overwhelming - Thank you

Sheri-
To me there are levels - waking alone with a loved one's scent still on the pillow - can prolong my stay in bed - But having the taste on my face and nose is several strata above that   - Thank you

Vicky -
I'm not sure what you're asking of me
Thanks ~WG~

Rosemary -
the female perspective on this - could be a very entertaining Post in the forum - I hope you reconsider   - thank you

Dale -
With or without memory loss - the reruns - must be wonderful for you - I'm envious

Martie-
Thank  you for noting the loving part of this little effort on my part. It truly is an essential ingredient. thank you

The image of "Wearing You" and this last stanza....

"Intoxicated
With your taste
You stay with me
Till morning's shower"

.... excellent writing, Bill.

Wil,
I agree with Martie about scent being one of the most most powerfully senses connected to emotion.
This poem evoked so many memories for me. It was great.

Kethry - Paula -

As I write my response - I cannot help but be fascinated by the realization - that many female responses - were not those of a giver but as the receiver - i.e. identifying with the wearing of scent and taste rather that the giver. I din't know why - nut it surprised me - thank you.
