My life these days seems to be stuck between songs.
Concentrating on what is right, beating myself up for what is wrong.

Caught somewhere between: "Sad to belong to someone else when the right one comes along".
And feeling bad for: "If I can't be with the one I Love then Love the one I'm with", song.

But the one thing that seems to stand,oh so true.
Is the feelings I had when I cared for you.

And I can't seem to make amends to the loves cost.
Of he who gave all his love and lost.

"All I wanted was a white night, good heart, soft touch, fast horse.
"Ride me off into the sunset and I'm forever yours".

And the only other song that seems to play is the one where my heart seems to lack.
"I Don't know where we went wrong, but the feelings gone and I just can't get it back".

Someday I pray I will make it past this impasse.
And I hope by some miracle you'll be waiting there for as long as it can last.

A very moving piece and I know the song you are looking for is out there and in time you will find it and all those feelings will rise up out of you and sing right along in harmony.  Wonderful verse from you this morning.

Thank you Mark, I always welcome your words.  I was afraid my verses my not be understood, or judged harshly.  I'm glad you liked.

"Sad eyes, turn the other way. . . "
"Someone to watch over me. . ."

Just goes to show, it's not the singer. . . it's the song. . .

Excellent. . .

once again Gem....you write my reflection ...
i know these feelings well...
and i really like the way you've done this
using old classic lines and cliche's to express your emotions ...
we'll put another round in the jukebox and let the sad songs play
great write ...
take care poet

Sven-Thank you for your words of inspiration, I'm flattered.
jm-Let me know where and when. I'll provide the coins for the juke box, thanks for understanding.
