Love Renewed

The tentacles of my heart
Stretch out to embrace
The longing of your soul
Rings of votive candles
Line the patio's gardens
Like lumenaria
Lining the pathways
As they seek you
As our needs reach out

I grow
Butterfly wings
With enormous
Incandescence
Iridescent
Rainbows of hues

In scents of
Arabian perfumes
Incensing the air
Our pheromones
Cling to the night air

Take wing with me now
That we may fly
Lending the beauty of our love
To this moonlit garden
Show these pale roses
That the magnitude of scent
Compelling
Comes from one loved
Beyond telling

Then we will settle there
Beyond the last light
Deep in the petals
Of summer's last blossom
To cocoon our romance
To a snuggle lasting through the cold
To bear witness to love renewed
Continually reincarnated

~You have to have a dream so you can get up in the morning.

Bill,
This beauty flowed so smoothly (except when I had to reach for my dictionary)
You are the ultimate romantic, without a doubt, and express it so tenderly in all of your verses. This is about my favorite

Excellent Wilfred! Amongst the beautiful sentiments and incredible imagery you've painted throughout ... I loved the lines above that bring it back to sheer chemical magnitism ... wonderful poem!

Best wishes,
/Kit

Marge-
I liked to fantasizie - that if we could metamorphasize into butterflies - why not be able to recycle again and again as chrysalis' ,butterflies and back - anyhow - made sense to me Thank you

Martie -
What better place to be cocooned - than wrapped in flower petals? works for me ~S~ thank you

Kit -
I've yet to understand the chemistry of the 'net - I simply accept it - somehow those pheromones attach and disperse though fingertips to keys - to screens to eyes - thank you

This completely captures the essence of that rare magic called love, the kind we only experience one in a lifetime, if ever.

Beautiful.

Corinne-
Only once-? perhaps - I'm feeling more giddy than I can ever remember - and while it may never be realized - I'm going to ride it out.
Thank you.

Paula - - you're a loyal reader - and very sweet - thank you.
