Halloween Nears

I. Hallowed be the Witch

Halloween nears,
I salute scattered ravens,
lungs silenced to sing,
revel in their beaks strewn,
ripped from thin skin
as winds flail brittle
their talons protesting
plucked wings.

I laugh, hitching moans spat
wretchedly quick against lids surprise,
forcing sockets unshielded,
imploding in spite of yourselves.
I rue those who venture....
Dare; approach dead skies,
as I, old crone, laugh while
Halloween nears.

I love Halloween, it brings me back to my childhood.

I loved the candy and costumes.
